Women’s History Month at Ashland, The Henry Clay Estate

The Henry Clay Estate, is proud to announce its commemoration of Women’s History Month throughout March: “As a site deeply intertwined with the legacy of Henry Clay, we recognize and honor the significant contributions of women in shaping not only Ashland’s history but also the broader narratives of our nation.” Ashland will host a “Women’s Voices” tour every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:45pm throughout the month of March

We continue our celebration of International Women’s Week with this multimedia recital + lecture by Ecuadorian soprano Andrea Salazar, who will sing in multiple languages and present historical context for works by Mexican and Ecuadorian female composers.

What: Teruko Nesbitt and Brooke Pohl will give an ikebana demonstration and speak to the cultural and personal importance of the contemplative practice of Ikebana, “the way of flowers”. Both have practiced ikebana for many years and currently teach the art in Lexington and Cincinnati.
