The Art of Conversation

Do you ever feel like you can’t have a relationship with someone who doesn’t share your opinion or worldview? Many of us did not feel this way until more recently. It can feel like we’re living in a world of silos and separation as we justify a lack of diversity of opinion by assigning labels of right and wrong to one another.

This phenomenon is happening equally among liberals, conservatives – and every one in between – all around the world.

We believe that this trend is especially detrimental to women. Not only is it difficult for many to speak up freely, ask for support, and share their opinions, but it also prevents us from breaking our own belief systems and biases, potentially preventing us from stepping fully into our power, collaborating truthfully, and supporting one another.

Ziva Voices was started with the idea of amplifying women’s voices. Supporting women in the media, getting them on stage, publishing them in our magazines, and, of course, supporting the exchange of ideas amongst them.

Learning to have difficult conversations is part of our mission.

That’s why our Q3 magazine theme is the Art of Conversation. We are looking for women who can speak about:

  • How do you negotiate your salary?
  • How to create deep conversations?
  • Why do difficult conversations build trust?
  • How to maneuver through disagreements
  • A better way of disagreeing with your partner (personal or business)
  • How to listen
  • Ten ways of starting a critical conversation
  • What can we learn from diplomacy?
  • How to speak up when it’s difficult

Are you experienced in any of these topics? Or, have you developed specific tools to help yourself and the people around you to find their voices and speak up? If so please feel free to submit your article here.
