What is your mantra or favorite saying? (If it's a known quote, please let us know who said it first!)

I do not know the original author of this quote, but it has hung on the wall of my office for 15 years. I saw it somewhere and wrote it down, then printed it out and put it on my wall. “So long as we search beyond ourselves for solutions we disempower ourselves. Even when we find outside forces to blame for our circumstances, we win a hollow victory.”

What does women's empowerment look like to you in action?

Specific to digital assets, it means that every time I speak to an audience at an conference, or attend an event, that I will see more and more women. Right now, I typically see rooms with 1 in 10 people being a woman. The most diverse audiences might be 3 in 10. We are 50% of the population and that is what I want to see – 5 in 10, no less. This industry is the intersection of technology and finance, both of which have historically skewed more male. Empowerment means changing that. It won’t happen in a tidal wave, but little by little it will change. There are so many of us that are determined to see this change that I am confident it will.

What would you tell 19-year-old YOU?

Live in the moment and stop worrying about the future. You won’t end up where you thought you’d be, you’ll end up where you are, so at all times, enjoy where you are.

What will 86-year-old you want you to know TODAY?

Everything! But workwise, I’d love to know: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? I know that probably seems like a frivolous question but I think the big life answers we have to figure out on our own along the way.

What's a book title or podcast that you have loved in the past year or so?

A Gentleman in Moscow – beautifully written and there are many lessons in the story about how you choose to embrace the life you have and challenges you are given.
