Lisa King is a certified yoga teacher, menopause movement specialist, and menopause coach/doula that wants to help women thrive during mid-life. She has over 6 years of experience with movement and working through her own menopause journey. She knows perimenopause to post-menopause is different for everyone and she loves working with women to tailor a  program specific to their goals and needs.

If you are an entrepreneur/self-employed, what motivated you to start your own business?

Menopause made me start my own business! When I started the transition through menopause, I couldn’t find support or resources. I was shocked by how taboo even the discussion around it was. So, I made it my mission to start the dialogue and help women thrive in mid life.

What does success mean to you?

Success to me is living a life I love and creating my own path in the world, being independent and wildly curious along the way.

What is your mantra or favorite saying? (If it's a known quote, please let us know who said it first!)

365 new days, 365 new chances

What's your favorite book - fiction or non-fiction! - in the past year?

I am a voracious reader of fiction and non fiction so this is hard but if I had to pick one it would be, Giver of the Stars by JoJo Moyes

If you could teach the world one five-minute lesson, what would it be?

If I could teach one five-minute lesson, it would be on breathing. The breath can quiet the mind and reconnect us to our bodies. It can calm us or energize us. It can give us that pause before we react. It is a tool that is always readily available. Yes, a lesson in breathing for everyone!

What does women's empowerment look like to you in action?

Women’s empowerment is about lifting up other women. Standing together, being a voice for each other or being behind the scene support

What would you tell 19-year-old YOU?

I would say, “Be still and listen to that little voice deep inside. Don’t be afraid to find your own path and let your light shine. It’s okay to take the path less chosen.”

What will 86-year-old you want you to know TODAY?

My 86-year-old self would want me to know that I am doing good work and that it is impacting women in ways I don’t even know.

What is your favorite quote? (It can be yours or from someone that you look up to.)

” I am my own Touch Tree: strong, singular, alive. Still growing. I have everything I need, beneath me, above me and inside me. I am never gonna lose me.” Glennon Doyle, Untamed
