What has been our greatest & favorite achievement so far and why?

Being a mother and learning to navigate motherhood has been my greatest achievement. My children are a blessing to me and have taught me not only the true meaning of love but how to work hard and how to properly care for myself. Life doesn’t end when you become a mother. My children have shown me that it’s never to late to chase your dreams!

What does success mean to you?

Success is more about my effort and less about what I accomplish. If I try my best and learn a valuable lesson in whatever I am trying to do (that I can take with me and apply somewhere else) then I was successful.

What is your mantra or favorite saying? (If it's a known quote, please let us know who said it first!)

“Love life. Engage in it. Give it all you’ve got. Love it with a passion because life truly does give back, many times over, what you put into it.” — Maya Angelou

What's your favorite book - fiction or non-fiction! - in the past year?

Where the Crawdads Sing- Delia Owens, He Saw That It Was Good – Sho Baraka

If you could teach the world one five-minute lesson, what would it be?

The world does not revolve around you. The actions that you take and the decisions you make affect those you are connected to. You have the power and the ability to change the world and to affect generations to come. Someone is waiting for you to be all that God created you to be so that they can do the same.

Knowing what you know now, what would you have done differently when you were first starting out?

I would have never doubted myself. I have always been a very creative person, but I lacked confidence and didn’t believe in myself. I compared myself to others and allowed fear to keep me from accomplishing my goals. I would have learned to truly love myself and walk confidently in my gifts and talents.

What does women's empowerment look like to you in action?

Women’s empowerment to me, means pouring into the next generation of women. When I reach a certain level of success and attain certain knowledge and wisdom, I want to reach back and pull other women up with me by pouring into them all that I have learned.

What would you tell 19-year-old YOU?

It won’t always be like this. The negative feelings and emotions you are experiencing are only temporary. Love, joy and peace are on the way!

What will 86-year-old you want you to know TODAY?

Live for the day and take in every moment. Don’t take life for granted. Spend time with your loved ones and make sure they know just how loved and appreciated they are. Try to live a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Does anyone call you by a nickname? What is it?

Alot of people call me CiCi.

What is your favorite place for our audience to reach you?

I love connecting with my audience on my Instagram page. @Blessedcurls_

What is your favorite quote? (It can be yours or from someone that you look up to.)

“…with God all things are possible.” -Matthew 19:26
